The award is given each year by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association (MHSFCA) in recognition of outstanding community leadership. New this year for Mott football was their work with the Oakland County Sheriffs at their annual Fishing Derby for handicap children. The players also adopted a local family and donated their own money for the family during Christmas. Waterford Mott football continues to be a leader in community service.
