The Waterford School District's financial dilemma
has been, and continues to be, created by three continuous years
in a row of no increase in the per student foundation which is
$7,068 per student, mid-year cuts from prorations implemented by
Lansing, declining enrollment, projected cost increases for
retirement, escalating health insurance costs, and utilities. We
have been seeing projections from Lansing that predict a fourth
year of financial problems for 2005 - 2006.
