Communicable
diseases are diseases that are transmitted from person to person. It is
necessary that students who are contagious, be kept from others. The following are symptoms suggestive of communicable diseases. Children with these symptoms should be kept at home. Should
any of these symptoms be noted while your child is in school, you
will be notified immediately to pick up your child. If your
child experiences any of the symptoms below, you are urged to have
your child seen by a physician. Your child will be excluded
from school until fully recovered.
Symptoms common to
communicable diseases:

Red or running
eyes, sneezing or discharging nose.

Cough,
particularly if persistent or productive.

Sores and crusts
on the scalp, face or body, particularly if red swollen or
draining.

Skin eruption
-
Sore throat
-
Swelling and
tenderness of glands, particularly about the face or neck

Fever, suggested
by flushed, hot face

Nausea and
vomiting
-
Pain and
stiffness of neck headache
-
Jaundice--yellowing of eyes and/or skin.

Diarrhea and
persistent abdominal pain
Any of these
symptoms may be associated with communicable diseases. They
may also be symptoms of non-communicable disease, but must be
considered as signs of illness that should have medical attention.
