Education YES! Report Card FAQ
Education YES! Defined
Education YES! Is the state’s accreditation system. The system is
designed to evaluate schools based on measures of achievement.
Following evaluation, schools will receive a composite score in
the form of a letter grade (A, B, C, D-Alert, or F- Unaccredited).
The letter, along with the school report card, will be made
available to the public. The report card:
-
Provides a snapshot of the current performance of a school
-
Provides a guide to future improvement
-
Points out strengths
-
Identifies areas in need of attention

Accreditation will be awarded to schools whose combined
performance results in an A, B, or C grade. Those schools with a

§
Education YES! combines aspects of federal NCLB legislation in
the final grades that schools will receive. It also goes above
and beyond requirements of NCLB. Education YES! includes data
from Social Studies and Science tests in addition to Math and
Reading
(the only required areas for NCLB). In addition, in
Michigan
the bar has been set higher for the content of MEAP tests and
what the acceptable "passing" grade level is.
