At Pierce we promote a trip atmosphere where chaperones and students support one another with genuine respect. As a student participant, it is your responsibility to help make the trip a positive and enjoyable experience for yourself, fellow students, and chaperones. All participants are expected to demonstrate high standards of conduct and to accept personal responsibility and consequences for their actions.  You are expected to exhibit honesty, courteousness and consideration toward others. This includes those in your group, as well as anyone else with whom you may come in contact, such as bus drivers, guides, and restaurant and hotel staff.

Our goal is to make this trip an educational, safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. We ask each individual's cooperation and commitment to the behavior guidelines to help us meet this goal.

We expect the student/participant to obey the following rules of behavior:

  1. The student is to follow the directions and rules and regulations established by the chaperones and teachers both prior to and during the trip.
  2. The student shall not be involved in any way with smoking, alcohol, illegal drugs, vandalism, theft, or any other type of behavior that is judged by the chaperones to be detrimental to the health, well-being, safety, or reputation of himself or herself or anyone else in the group, including chaperones.
  3. The student shall comply with all the regulations of the various governmental and commercial agencies (such as hotels, bus companies, etc.).
  4. The student shall remain with the group at all times.
  5. The student shall respect and follow the direction of the Tour Director, chaperones, and hotel supervisors.
  6. No throwing of any object or tampering with hotel property is allowed.
  7. The use of hotel facilities carries with it the responsibility of leaving them in the same condition in which they were found.   The student and the parents are financially responsible for any damage.
  8. Students must remain in their rooms until a chaperone visits the room and gives them permission to leave.
  9. The students must sleep in their assigned hotel room each night.
  10. Good common-sense, respect and consideration for others and their property should be practiced daily.
  11. All students must be in their rooms twenty minutes after their bus arrives at the hotel and forty minutes later the lights should be off.
  12. We are not the only occupants of the hotel - be as quiet as possible.
  13. No boy will enter a girl's room or vice versa at any time for any reason.
  14. Students must lock their doors and remain in their hotel rooms. Open the door only when your chaperone is identified.
  15. All students are expected to participate in every activity.

If the student should violate any of these rules, they may be sent home at the sole discretion of the lead teacher. In such cases, the parent/guardian will be contacted and the student will be sent home at the parent's expense.
