The
Waterford Success Program is a prevention program serving the Waterford
School District. This program serves children in grades K-8 and
their families. The program Facilitator / Home Visitor seeks to
address prevention and early intervention of high-risk behavior.
School attendance is selected as the initial criteria because it
is objective, consistently documented, and a precursor to other high-risk
behaviors. Also, it is a state law that children must attend school on a
regular basis between the ages of 6 and 16 years. Students that are identified as having attendance and / or
behavior issues are referred to the Program Coordinator, who in turn submits
appropriate referrals to the Success program.
Federal, State, and/or County funding has
been provided through the Oakland County Health Division/Office of
Substance Abuse Services to support the project cost.
